Tunnel detection system developed for the detection of accidents and variations in traffic speed.
Each tunnel is equipped with about 120 loops in the road which are collected as traffic speed, vehicle category, etc.
In total there are 4 PLC's (Siemens S7-300 series with 340 and Profibus CP) for all required data collection and processing into usable data is via a Profibus connection to a Master station in the traffic control centre.
Central CCTV can then be automatically directed to the relevant point of focus in the tunnel.
All data is backed up on PC and saved for at least a year.
The system is fully equipped with a WinCC SCADA system for monitoring and parameterisation.
